2018-028 Shirley Ann Nicholson Class of 1948 Scrapbooks and photobook
One small (4X5) photo album with photographs of students at Connecticut College at work and play. Also included are shots of the campus and faculty. Many photographs include some notation from Shirley Ann. Many are first names, nicknames, and initials. This information is on back of the photos. There are two scrapbooks. One contains primarily playbills with comments by Shirley Ann in the margins. The other scrapbook is an official Connecticut College Scrapbook. This contains notes and ephemera from Conn and documents her experience as a student. There are also notes and comments on this scrapbook.
Donated to the College by Pieter Roos, the son of Shirley Ann Roos (nee Nicholson). Shirley Ann died in 2017. Pieter Roos is the current director for the Mark Twain Museum and a friend of Abby Van Slyck a faculty member. After moving to Connecticut, he decided to Contact College and donate the collection as Shirley was extremely fond of Connecticut College.
